Brookstone Rover Control

Hello, I bought the Rover during my last trip to the US hoping that I would be able to use it from the office to watch over my cat, and maybe play with him over lunch time. I was not aware that direct WIFI connection was required... I think ez-robot software can help with the HTTP server solution, but I could not connect the software to the tank even though the WIFI connection was established between PC and tank. Do I need to install a harware piece on the tank itself before it works? I watched the tutorial but it is never explicitly said; I just found some hints on one page: "With ARC and your EZ-Robot Complete Kit, easily enable powerful functions to the Brookstone Rover", which is rather ambiguous. Can you please explain how I should proceed? Many thanks, and congrats for your site. Thomas

Hi!

Every control in ARC has a ? (Question mark) next to the X button. If you add the BrookStone Rover Control, it will have a ? next to the X Close button. Press the ? and you will be directed to the help page for that control.

The page is: https://synthiam.com/Tutorials/Help.aspx?id=161

The tutorial video on that page provides step by step:) It's as simple as adding the control, connecting to the brookstone rover over WIFI, and pressing "connect".

*Note: Ensure you have brookstone rover v1, as the v2 is not supported by ARC:)

oh I must have a v2 then (black, bought in feb 2013)... do you have plans to support v2 as well at any stage? many thanks for your answer.

We haven't been able to get a brookstone v2 rover into Canada to develop for - not sure when that will happen. Their website says they ship to Canada, but it doesn't let us enter Canadian payment options. Even Amazon won't ship the v2 here...

payment? these guys should send you one for free! well I guess I will have to continue using mine as toy gadget instead of useful surveillance robot... Thanks for your help, Thomas
