I had my EZ BoxBot up and working a few days ago on one laptop. However, I tried to load the ARC sw on another laptop and bluetooth connect to the robot. It appeared to pair but would not connect. Now when I went back to the original laptop, the bluetooth community sees the Dev B EZ robot but gives a not connected error no matter what COM port I try to connect to.
Is there a way to reset the EZ bluetooth?
Thanks,
The only reason I found it wasn't connecting was low batteries, or you needed to reset the Bluetooth profile on your computer.
How do I reset the Bluetooth profile on my laptop? Yea, after thinking about it, it gives a "unable to determine port" error.
XP machine.
Installed ARC on yet a third laptop under Vista OS. It doesn't have the unable to determine port error, just a popup window with "Could not connect to the EZ-B Would you like to view the Getting Started tutorial". The good thing about this computer is that it has Windows Native Bluetooth Connection setup like in the Tutorial, so I was able to be sure of the correct COM connection (lower of two COM ports shown). Both Blue and Red LEDs continue to flash on the robot indicating no connections. Now when I try to connect for the correct COM5 I get the following:
EZB 0: EZB 1: EZB 2: EZB 3: EZB 4: TCP Server stopped TCP Server stopped TCP Server stopped TCP Server stopped TCP Server stopped Attempting connection on COM5 Connection Failed: System.TimeoutException: The write timed out. at System.IO.Ports.SerialStream.Write(Byte[] array, Int32 offset, Int32 count, Int32 timeout) at System.IO.Ports.SerialPort.Write(Byte[] buffer, Int32 offset, Int32 count) at EZ_B.EZB.Connect(String hostname, String tcpPassword, Int32 baudRate) Disconnected
Since I have three computers that will not connect, I question if I have a problem with the Robot itself?
Thanks,
All, Fixed!
Basically went back through the two initial XP laptop Bluetooth setups and made sure they were unpaired with the robot. But the main thing that appears to solve issue is that I slowly went through unpairing the Vista laptop, made sure the computer was up to date with all Windows updates, and that I went back through the pairing process with the robot again slowly. Used Outgoing COM port 4 (the lower port number but higher on the screen) and it worked.
Thanks!
