Ooooh the VL53L0X is a real easy connection - it's a simple i2c connection and you just query the result in either 8, 16, or 32 bits. The only thing i'd be concerned with is the size. Connecting those to a PCB will take experience and patience :D

Might be worth looking into for a future EZ-Bit though!
