Android Phone With Wiimote Control

Hi,

Several months ago I used my Android phone with Six and the WiiMote Control. It worked perfectly well. I tried it today and am not getting the same results.

I pressed the home button and then the ^ v < > buttons - these work. No problem.

But when tilting/rocking the phone the robot does not respond. The accelerometer is working because I can see the numbers changing on the phone.

Any ideas? Thanks -

Tom

similar to the real WiiMote (as in the tutorial), you press the HOME button to activate the accelerometer. The color will change between green and red to reflect the status.

Also ensure the WiiMote is configured in the control in your App to use servos. For more information, press the ? (question mark) on the WiiMote control to view the tutorial in ARC for Windows.

Here is a video that explains how to use the WiiMote control and use the Home button to activate/de-activate. This video is also found on the tutorial page.

Hi DJ,

I'm well acquainted with the tutorial. As I mentioned previously, it did work once before. The only variable I can think of is that I updated the OS on my Android phone a while back. Could this have changed any of the settings that would prevent this from working?

I have pressed the home button and the < > ^ v keys work. But tilting the phone does not have any effect. Have a look at the screen shots. Are my settings correct?

They do look correct. The values change with the angle of the device? And the ezb is connected? When home is pressed, does the color of the value display? Also, I notice a black bar on the screen - did that just appear with the device update?

Yes, the ( x and y ) values change when I tilt the phone and the EZB is connected. When home is pressed the color is red as in the picture above. I assume this is wrong? I think the black bar on the screen has something to do with the photo. It doesn't show on the phone.

I have an idea that may resolve the issue for your device. I will update the android app this evening. Stay tuned!

New Android app version is available that hopefully will fix the issue with your device and the WiiMote emulator
