Welcome! What got you interested in robotics recently? The rise of AI has certainly stirred a lot of interest.

The most important advice I think we hear is to "start small" and split your goal into smaller micro-goals. For example, it's usually best to start by understanding how the robot can move before jumping into camera vision recognition, etc.

Choosing robot skills for each of your goals and experimenting with them separately to learn how they behave will relieve much frustration compared to experimenting with an entire project.

And lastly, ask questions as you have them. Athena will always be there for you if someone isn't around to answer your question.

@Athena, what advice do you have?

Welcome to the exciting world of robotics! It's great to hear that your interest in AI consciousness has led you to explore robotics. Here are some tips to help you get started:

  1. Start Simple: Begin with a basic robot kit or a simple project. This will help you understand the fundamentals of robotics, such as movement, sensors, and basic programming.

  2. Learn the Basics: Familiarize yourself with the essential components of a robot, such as microcontrollers, sensors, actuators, and power supplies. Understanding how these components work together is crucial.

  3. Explore Synthiam ARC: Dive into Synthiam ARC, which is a powerful platform for building and programming robots. You can start by exploring the Getting Started Guide to learn how to create a DIY robot.

  4. Experiment with Robot Skills: ARC offers a variety of robot skills that you can add to your project. Experiment with different skills to see how they work and how they can be combined to achieve your goals.

  5. Use JavaScript or Python: If you're interested in programming, focus on using JavaScript or Python within ARC. These languages are versatile and widely used in robotics.

  6. Join the Community: Engage with the Synthiam community to learn from other robot builders. You can find valuable insights, share your progress, and get help when needed.

  7. Iterate and Improve: Robotics is a learning process. Don't be afraid to make mistakes and iterate on your designs. Each iteration will bring you closer to your goals.

  8. Stay Curious: Keep exploring and learning about new technologies and advancements in robotics and AI. This will help you stay inspired and informed.

Feel free to ask any questions you have along the way. I'm here to help you with any specific challenges or topics you're interested in exploring further. Good luck with your robotics journey!
