Hi Nomad_6R,

Weak and brittle 3D prints, as well as stringing, can be caused by several factors. Here are some common issues and solutions to help you improve your 3D prints:

Weak and Brittle Prints

  1. Filament Quality: Ensure you are using high-quality filament. Cheap or old filament can absorb moisture, leading to weak prints.
  2. Print Temperature: Check the recommended print temperature for your filament. Printing at too low a temperature can result in poor layer adhesion, making prints weak.
  3. Layer Height: Using a very high layer height can reduce the strength of your prints. Try using a smaller layer height for better layer adhesion.
  4. Infill Density: Increase the infill density to add more internal structure to your prints. A low infill density can make prints weak.
  5. Print Speed: Printing too fast can lead to poor layer adhesion. Try reducing the print speed to improve the quality and strength of your prints.
  6. Cooling: Excessive cooling can cause the layers to cool too quickly, leading to poor adhesion. Adjust the cooling settings to ensure proper layer bonding.

Stringing

  1. Retraction Settings: Adjust the retraction settings in your slicer software. Increase the retraction distance and speed to reduce stringing.
  2. Print Temperature: Printing at too high a temperature can cause stringing. Lower the print temperature within the recommended range for your filament.
  3. Travel Speed: Increase the travel speed to reduce the time the nozzle spends moving between print areas, which can help minimize stringing.
  4. Nozzle Cleanliness: Ensure the nozzle is clean and free of any debris that could cause stringing.
  5. Moisture in Filament: Filament that has absorbed moisture can cause stringing. Store your filament in a dry environment and consider using a filament dryer.

Additional Tips

  • Calibrate Your Printer: Regularly calibrate your printer, including bed leveling and extruder calibration, to ensure optimal print quality.
  • Use a Good Slicer: Ensure you are using a reliable slicer software and that it is configured correctly for your printer and filament.

If you continue to experience issues, you might want to check out some forums or support areas specific to your 3D printer model for more tailored advice.

SUCSESFULL print no stringing . the main fault  was over extrution but also 70% clogged heatsinck and a bad extruder motor . first i open up the extruder motor and i saw some partikels . have no clue were they came from .gessing from the copper gear . what to look for . a printer when it start first thing a printer does is lay a start line on the side before it start to print . i notest when that line is very thin thats an good indication some thing is off .

a video about that extruder motor

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/jdR0-C74c_U

the print

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LEljBnmyVSs

so my next question is for the monoprize mini V3.

i hopen anyone has an idea . the bed is a removeble magnet bed . i cant find any on sale . so i bouth the build plate from a mini v2 . problem they are thicker . as you can see in the above video i cant raise the setting for the nozzle and bed . normal it should do that auto but it dives into the plate . anyone has experiants with this ?

Im glad to hear that your print was successful and that you were able to identify and resolve the issues with over-extrusion,clogged heatsink, and the extruder motor!Thank you for sharing the videos;they provide helpful context.

Regarding your Monoprice Mini V3 and the removable magnetic bed issue, here are some suggestions:

Adjusting for Thicker Build Plate

1.Manual Bed Leveling:If your printer has a manual bed leveling option, try adjusting the bed leveling screws to compensate for the thicker build plate. This might help you achieve the correct nozzle height. 2.Z-Axis Offset:Check if your printer firmware or slicer software allows you to set a Z-axis offset. This setting can help you adjust the starting height of the nozzle to account for the thicker build plate. 3.Firmware Update:Ensure your printer firmware is up to date. Some firmware updates include features or fixes that might help with bed leveling and Z-axis adjustments. 4.Custom G-code:You can add a custom G-code command to your slicer to adjust the Z-axis offset at the start of the print. For example, adding M851 Z-0.5 (adjust the value as needed) to your start G-code can help lower the nozzle.

Finding a Compatible Build Plate

1.Contact Manufacturer:Reach out to Monoprice support to inquire about the availability of the original magnetic bed for the Mini V3.They might have spare parts or recommendations for compatible alternatives. 2.Third-Party Options:Look for third-party build plates that are compatible with your printer model. Some manufacturers offer universal magnetic build plates that might fit your printer with minor adjustments. 3.Custom Solutions:Consider using a flexible build surface like PEI sheets or BuildTak on top of your existing build plate. These can be cut to size and provide a good printing surface.

Community and Forums

1.Monoprice Community:Check the Monoprice forums or community pages for advice from other users who might have faced similar issues. 2.3D Printing Forums:Websites like Reddit (r/3Dprinting) or dedicated 3D printing forums can be valuable resources for troubleshooting and finding compatible parts.

Example Custom G-code for Z-Axis Offset

Here is an example of how you might add a Z-axis offset to your start G-code in your slicer software:

G28 ; Home all axes
M851 Z-0.5 ; Adjust Z-axis offset (adjust the value as needed)
G29 ; Auto bed leveling (if your printer supports it)
G92 E0 ; Reset extruder
G1 Z2.0 F3000 ; Move Z axis up
G1 X0 Y0 F3000 ; Move to the front-left corner
G1 Z0.2 F3000 ; Move to the starting height

Adjust the M851 Z-0.5 value based on the thickness difference of your new build plate.

I hope these suggestions help you resolve the issue with your Monoprice Mini V3.If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask!

hi

found some more errors why i have a clogged nozzle . i notest while printing the bedleveling goes away .

first i notest a worn out roll from the extruder . see the diff in groeve .left old deeper groeve .right new one . when the groeve is to deep the filament slips .

hi

for the ender3 - pro . i notest that the bedleveling while printing changed .  that means the spring tention is not like it was new (worn out ) . so i did this . put two tiny wachers ontop the springs . it gives back more tention like it was new . if you by a new set , carefull there are many diff lengt of springs ,they dont fit . also a reason why your nozzle cloghs up .
