Using A Rc Transmitter With The Ez-B Controller

Hello, I am attempting to build a RC 1/16 scale RC armored vehicle and could use some help. I am currently using the EZ-B controller to control certain functions, i.e. cameras and several servos. However I would like to use a RC transmitter (like the ones used with RC cars) to control the main drive and turret motors/servos; has anyone ever attempted to do this setup before; if so how did you get it to work? ? I will appreciate and other suggestions.
