ARC Latest Versions

I have been unable to use the last three versions of ARC due to encountering the following error message:

Version: 2025.02.20.00

System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'CefSharp.Core.Runtime.dll' or one of its dependencies. The specified module could not be found.
File name: 'CefSharp.Core.Runtime.dll'
   at CefSharp.CefSettingsBase..ctor()
   at CefSharp.WinForms.CefSettings..ctor() in C:\projects\cefsharp\CefSharp.WinForms\CefSettings.cs:line 16
   at pT0vEItPSWXNMrodEvv.FkN6JqtmtUay1UnG1ao.GYlt5b0oq1()

Due to this issue, I have decided to revert to version 2025.01.25.00, as it functions correctly without any errors.

Could anyone provide guidance on how to resolve this error in the newer versions of ARC? Any insights into why the 'CefSharp.Core.Runtime.dll' file might be missing or how to ensure all dependencies are correctly installed would be greatly appreciated.

Applications are installed through a Microsoft Windows installation service, which is why applications can be uninstalled, modified, and configured in the Add/Remove features menu. Sometimes, and no one knows why, Microsoft Windows will "mess up." In this case, Windows missed files during the installation. While this feature was introduced back in Windows 95, it can occasionally mess up. I don't think "mess up" is the correct technical term that Microsoft would use, but without knowing why Microsoft Windows does what it sometimes does, it'll have to do for this reference.

My recommended solution for you would be to completely remove ARC so that you can install the latest version on a "clean slate," so to speak. By removing the existing installation, you would be installing from scratch.

The process is very straightforward and is documented step-by-step here: https://synthiam.com/Support/troubleshooting/Completely-Remove-All-ARC

*Note: I don't recommend deleting the registry. To be clear, do not perform step #5. Doing so would require you to log in to ARC again and reconfigure the ARC preferences. It won't be the end of the world if you prefer to do so; it's just an unnecessary step in this situation.

In summary, you will

  1. reboot
  2. uninstall the arc
  3. delete the installation folder
  4. download and reinstall the latest arc
