Ez- Robotics At Usa Scientific & Engineering Festival In Washington D.c

The ratio of new innovations in comparison to the world's population is incredibly low. There are no lack of ideas for new products and solutions - by people just you.

What is stopping you from inventing the next iRobot Roomba? The technical challenges... Where do you start? How do you program it? What parts to use?

This is how EZ-Robot helps shape the future of technology! By allowing people just like you to create real robotics and automation.

EZ-Robot presented their innovative robot platform at the USA Science & Engineering Festival 2014. Inspiring students and teachers to take part in the revolution of the upcoming robotic industry.

We are in Hall A. See you later today!

It was great meeting you guys today and seeing Roli, Six, and JD in action. Absolutely loved the looks on kids faces (and some adults too) when Six danced and JD waved at then and then did pushups. The learning while tracking face recognition was really impressive too (next release of EZ-B).

I'll post pictures and videos this evening or in the morning. I'll have to see what my wife has planned for my birthday, but I may see you tomorrow afternoon at 5:00 to take you up on your offer.

Thanks for the hospitality. Let me know next time any of you are in DC and I'll give you the guided tour and take you to some of our best restaurants.

Oh great Alan... you probably got a free V4 board too....:P

Not yet;)

I am timing how long it takes to get home from the convention center. If my wife didn't make any other plans, I know I need to be home by 6:30 tomorrow to pick her up and meet friends for dinner at 7. DJ needs the board until 5, so it will be cutting it close, so I might need to leave it for the next community member to meet the team. Much as I would like to get one early, after this long winter, if my wife wants to go mountain biking tomorrow, I'll be on the trails, not inside the convention center.

Great videos DJ - thanks:)

Every time we get a vid showing JD I hope to see him turn but not yet lol. His walk is kind of a slow shuffle and I figure it may take quite a large turning circle if he can turn around, but I'm sure there are loads of things we can do to help him:)

I got a video of him turning, I'll try and post today. You are right, kind of a wide turn.

Don't forget that you have the power to change every action of any robot in the auto position. You can tweak the motions yourself. We're more busy designing this product so you can tweak it yourself:)

Video of JD doing some moves, including executing a right hand turn while walking.

Here is one of JD and Six. Listen to the little girl in the background describing everything JD does. It was really cute (and I don't even like kids....).

Not EZ-B, but really cool snakebot.

Some still pictures from the show. Mostly EZ-b, but also the MIT Cheetah.

Seeing JD Live, I get the impression that with some extra servos and EZ-Bits to give him longer legs and a swiveling hip joint, we might be able to make him a little more maneuverable. He fell on his back a couple times, and I was discussing with the guys what set of maneuvers we would need to program to make him able to roll over and stand up on his own. I think longer legs and a hip joint would help there too (although being taller, falls would also be more likely, so always a balance (pun intended) between functionality and stability.

The more I look at JD, the more I agree about his maneuverability. I ordered a Roli kit too, as I thought at the time that he would be more practical as a remote web-controlled robot. I think JD is a cute robot though, but probably needs a fair amount of tweaking to get him to be useful getting around the place. But as DJ said, he's only just being born at the moment and will I'm sure develop once we all get our hands on him ! I'm thinking I may need to build a Six too now though:) I still have to order JD's eyes when they become available so may add another EZ4 for Six. I'm not sure if it will be possible to add another EZ4 onto my existing order when the eyes are eventually in the store though?

#17

@jayceekeys They have modified other existing orders to reduce shipping costs. Just use the Contact Us page once the eyes are available and they'll send instructions. I am sure if too many people start requesting modifications to orders they'll need to stop the practice (or update the web site to automate it), but so far they have been very accommodating.

Just got in from an awesome mountain bike ride, so not enough time to get to the convention center to take @DJ up on his very generous offer.

If you really want to give away that pre release v4, I would suggest the best thing you could do for the community is to mail it to @rich (heck, I'll even pay the shipping). Having him get some experience before the rest of ours are delivered will mean all our questions will be answered in his usual lightning fast and accurate manner:)

Thanks for the videos, photos etc.

And also thanks for the kind words, but rest assured I'll have an EZ-B V4 soon enough:)

Thanks EZ Robot and thetechguru , I enjoyed the coverage and info. The arms and claws add alot to ROLI and SIX is cool. My thoughts are the same as thetechguru, Rich deserves a version 4 EZB! Steve S

Couldn't agree more regarding Rich - he is so deserving given the amount he helps others and if anyone is worthy it's him:)
