Calgary's EZ-Robot is making some waves in bringing robotics to the masses. For those wanting your own little Wall-E, go no further than the EZ-Robot website, where, for a couple hundred dollars, you can get a kit and get started in robotics. The real fun begins when you start accessorizing-being able to add things like blue tooth controllers and video cameras.
At a press conference at the brand spanking new Telus Spark Science Centre in Calgary, EZ has outdone itself. By wearing a pair of augmented reality glasses, you can now control your personal robot and also see what the little fellow is seeing.
Check out this video about the night. They sure are on to something. With people crowded around the robots all evening, taking pictures and trying them out, it's hard to not believe a robot revolution is on the way.
EZ-Robot is getting some good press-amongst others, Engadget did an article with a good video when EZ-Robot introduced it's first commercial kit in December.
"Robotics is on the verge of exploding, similar to how computers were in the 80's" said DJ Sures, founder of EZ-Robot. "We have created a product to make people's lives easier, whether that's having a 24hr/day companion or a robot that can help the elderly pick a rag off the floor."
From flying robots that will chase a ball around, to putting glasses on that allow you to see what a robot see's and control it with your movements, EZ-Robot brought some very fun and interactive toy's to life while at Telus Spark.
Their goal is not just making toy's (no matter how fun that may be!), but also to create a platform that will help other's bring out their creativity and turn it into a reality. "We want to allow everyone to get that idea out of their head, and turn it into an actuality, a real product, maybe even one that will change to world," the company says.

Keep up the great work DJ, you deserve all the publicity you have gotten with all the hard work and amount of time you've put into the designing and updating of EZ-Robots. I'll keep watching for all the great things you have to bring to the robotic community.
what you have achieved DJ is amazing. You seem to be a Pioneering one man band with an insight and passion to take robotics to the next level and beyond.
Thanks everyone!
We're in this together
I buid the software, you build the robots!
