Project X-Men "Juggernaut" I just purchased from ebay an MGA-1 Quadtrax which I plan on merging the upper torso of a robosapien. My plan for this weekend is, to open up the quadtrax and see if I can hack its circuit board.
I'm looking at removing the the canopy and mounting the Robosapien torso.
I will use the old EZ controller to get it up and working, and then transition to the new controller.
I love the Revolution, and I have my eye on "Six" as my next purchase.

This past weekend I opened up Juggernaut to see what I would find inside, and I was surprised to find that this platform is platform was built quite well.
The treads are in great shape, and as you can see this platform is a combination gear and chain drive system. The whole chassis is basically a transmission.
I removed the old circuit boards, and found that there are four motors that drive this platform.
Okay here I was having a little fun.
Here is a mock-up of the Robosapien and the Quad together.
I will have to raise the Robosapien up a bit, so when I raise the the tracks up they won't contact his arms.
Nice. Looking at your pics and what you did, it would appear that you pulled the boards and wires and only left the power and ground wires on the motors. Is that correct? Then hook the motors to H-Bridges and control them via EZB?
I've never hacked any toys yet but I do have a robosapien. Either 1st or 2nd version. It is something that I've though about doing now that I know a bit more about electronics and robotics. So that's why I ask. I guess this is the first time I looked at a project and felt like I really understood it.

@Antron007 Thank You! I pulled the circuit boards, and left only the wires. I do intend on installing H-Bridges. Two of the motors control the direction forward, backwards, Left, and right . The other two motors control the raising and lowering of the front, and rear Tracks. There is not a lot of room in the chassis area, but should be enough for the H-Bridges to fit. The Robosapien I have, does have the IR & Ground on he circuit board, so following DJ's Tutorial I was able to control it with EZB.
I have completed the wiring from the H-Bridge's to the motors. I have to get up early in the morning, so I'll stop here and pick up again tomorow
I have wired the motor controllers to the EZB. @Rich, thank you for providing the tutorial on the H-Bridge. Now I'm entering the testing phase. If all goes well, I will move on to attaching the Robosapien upper torso to the base.
This is a rlly cool platform. It reminds me of something Irobot makes for police and military.
@jstarne1, I agree, so far everything is working just fine. I'm in the process of tidying up the wiring. I'm looking to provide separate power for the EZB and the 4 motors. Originally this was powered with a 9.6v battery. I have been testing it with two 7.2v batteries wired parallel. There is not enough room to place the battery/s and put the top shell on. I will have to mount the battery/s on the outer shell. Can you recommend some batteries for me to use? Thanks in advance!
It has been awhile since I posted. Progress as been slow but steady. I was planning on adding the upper torso of the Robosapien, but unfortunately I fried the Robosapien board, so I opted for another direction. I have a old Timex radio that I got off of Ebay that I thought might make a good head for Juggernaut.
Sorry about your robosapien. The Timex clock is a great looking substitute for the head.
