Here is the finish Ducki Six!
Just before anyone asks "why a duck" I will explain. Dj the founder of EZ Robot collects rubber ducks and he also brought the world EZ builder, EZ bits ,EZB v3 and now V4 all right around the corner.. In efforts to show our appreciation and celebrating ez robots success we made a custom ez robot themed robot ducky! I will show some build photos of the process and work that has gone into this. Also Troy pitched in as well to help out with supplies need to make the ducki robot ( thats Ducki like Roli).
I will post the final product this evening , until then you get to see the process behind the build.
Anthony played a big role in this build using 3d magic to scale parts to the desired size for Robo Ducki. Turns out they were perfect size for micro servos! There was some trial and error but Anthony was able to customize a duck with even better facial features than the first version stl i found on thingyverse. Since Anthony also had a 3d printer he was nice enough to do the test prints and the model eventually used in the end product. I was going to use a 3d printing service but not I realize that wouldn't been nearly as good as what we have come up with. So definitely give Anthony Props!

And then came the prototyping. I'm not sure how many test prints there were but there had to have been 2 or 3.

Alright so getting the print we already had thought up that the duck would be divided into a top and bottom half. This way you can lift to topto expose the inside space soon to be for a ezb. We ddon't actually have a ezb yet to put inside so we can just prep little dude incase ez robot wants him running around the office. :)

To be honest, the Six Duck looks much better than Roli Duck in my opinion, I love it! In fact I would say it looks "sick" (see what I did there? SIx and duCK).
And hopefully this will inspire people to do more with Roli, Six and JD.
So after some shaping work we check with a white base.
After shaping gridlines out we see the top and bottom pieces don't fit snug like a bug in a rug. Some filling of the gaps is needed. I used body filler and sandpaper to mold the top and bottom pieces together and then split them apart agian into two pieces. At this point I also cut a 2.2 to 2.3 inch wide square cut into the body and also into the top. According to measurements this is plenty for the v4 and the lithium battery to power it.
In the previous pics the servo blanks have been painted black. I don't have any micro servos so for the build we are utilizing 3d printed blanks. Hot glue holds them in place and can be popped apart and real servos hot glued in place. The 3d printed ez bits are coated with white acrylic titanium white paint to better match the white brilliance of the ducki body.

Here comes the painting of the eyes and the epoxy coating. There are small imperfections but for the most part it looks like porcelain covered in glass.

Here is the video of the robo ducki getting a thIck coat of epoxy to protect the pla and polyester body of the ducki. Yes I know Ducki is spelled wrong it is a play off Roli, a ez robot revolution product. Pardon the video it was 2am , very sleepy and no tri-pod nearby.

I know , lol. Hopefully the creepy doesn't out weight the cool. My first idea was a Roli ducky but Anthony already wanted to make a micro sized Six so it just worked out that way.

Which was a help i assure you , i spent 35 bucks buying supplies soon as I got the pla print to work with. Things like paints , primer , sandpaper and 2 part epoxy.
