did you recycle the power on the ez-b?

#2

I did. I get:

Attempting connection to COM3 Comm Err: The operation has timed out. BbytesToExpect: 1

Received: Disconnected Connection Failed: System.Exception: Controller Not Responding at EZ_B.EZB.Connect(String portName) Disconnected

Does the Upgrade run at a different baud rate. i have it set to the default of 9600.

when you power the ez-b, does the led pulse?

#4

Red one Pulses Fast. Blue One pulses very slow.

When I run Diag I get:

EZB 0: Attempting connection to COM3 Comm Err: The operation has timed out. BbytesToExpect: 1

Received: Disconnected Connection Failed: System.Exception: Controller Not Responding at EZ_B.EZB.Connect(String portName) Disconnected

EZB 1: EZB 2: EZB 3: EZB 4:

There's no reason it shouldn't connect - that code doesn't ever change. Try rebooting your computer and cycling the power of the ez-b. Something is confused and needs a restart.

#6

Will do. I Verified the firmware image and it said OK.

Hi, I have connecting problems too. I updated, all went fine. it said to reboot the EZ-B, which i did. When i turn the leds lights up for a while and then starts pulsing. I start up ARC and connecting to EZ-B on both a new project screen and also after loading my projects, it simply tells that it could not connect, wether or i would like to view the connection tutorial.

*Edit I have rebooted system too and it doesnt connect

Alright, thank you. :)

I have tried Everything. I have uninstalled and reinstalled booted up turned off. No luck so far.

Do we have a new release or what???????? I hooked up my newer board, which I've never connected yet. It booted up just fine. It told me right away there was an update available. I downloaded the update with no problem. I wanted to update ARC also but when I clicked on the download button I got an error message that said the page had moved. The one thing I was really looking for was the new "Servo Speed" control. It does not show up in the manual; nor does it appear when I click on "add an control", servo",etc. Have you done the new release DJ? I also tried doing a script with " ServoSpeed(D1, 50) " No change in servo speed; still moves very fast! I'm still seeing firmware version 15.2.

#16

oh!oh! I think someone made zee boo boo. But, we are all human. Well, except for my Robots. But don't tell them that.

the main problem I have is that I cannot upgrade the firmware again because I cannot connect up to the Bluetooth.

:-(

We will be patient.

OK, was working and hooked up fine. Then I downloaded the SDK and ARC new edition. When I hooked up the board to juice, it said I needed to upgrade firmware. Once finished it said I needed to reboot the EZB. After reboot, It would not connect to bluetooth. I checked the firmware and it said OK. I checked the ports and they said ok. The only thing that concerned me is that it is one Port3 and Port 5. It said Outgoing Port3 and Incomming Port5. I thought that you said the second port was for further enhancements. If this is so, then incomming and outgoing should be on the same port#3 and port5 should be a blank spare port with nothing on it. Am I correct? And HOW IN THE WORLD WILL I CHANGE IT???

D.J. I am feeding you information as fast as I can get it. hope it helps.

Good Luck! We are all counting on you! (LeslieNeilsonAIRPLANE).

Thanks DJ

it works perfectly now had same problem seemed to connect main led solid on but red (bluetooth) led began to flash, then got error that it could not connect.

To resolve issue I REMOVED my bluetooth device on pc,and set it up again entering pairing code. and it now connects without any problems. Thanks again Pat

@ BRAVIA

Yes!, that did the trick for e aswell! I deleted EZ-B from the bluetooth device list then unplugged it and plugged it back in, reconnected it with EZ-B Com port and bingo!

Thanks! I'm happy! :D

#21

OK, I have installed/uninstalled both bluetooth and EZB many times. At first, I was on port 3 with port5, next I was on port 7 with 8. I still don't understand WHY the incomming and outgoing are on sepirate ports.

I guess I have to leave it alone for a while I am spinning in circles now.

OK, I am convinced that no matter what I do, it is NOT going to work. :-(

My system is Windows7 Five Core 16G Ram and 2 T Hard drive and ONE EZBoard that does not work.

@ MovieMaker

Have you tried deleting the registered ports for EZ-B with blueTooth before uninstalling?

I have windows 7 too, I first rightclicked my bluetooth icon in windows tray, there i manually took out the registered ports for the EZ-B connection and then unplugged it. I plugged it back in and then only had to reactivate the EZ-B connection in windows control panel > hardware and devices, and it automaticly reconnected. That was all I did and it worked.

I noticed that at first that allthough i had my port 3, i did not have my port 4. I again rightclicked my bluetooth icon in tray and there i anually added the com 4 port to the EZ-B connection. I hope this may be of some help to you.

Second EZB now works ok also.

On first attempt got " cannot connect to Ez-b" error But my next click on connect all worked perfectly.

Don't worry what ever the issue DJ will sort it out.

Everything was working Beautiful right before the Update firmware.

I think there is a BUG . And, of course I am the Lucky one to experience it. I should've been a beta tester. I have beta tested before for some companies.

The 15.3 does indeed have a bug with some bluetooth modules. It's unusual, because it's not with all EZ-B's.

It will be repairable, but require a trick for the connection. You will have to power the EZ-B ON, then OFF, then ON quickly. If you do that, the status led will begin pulsating (Rather than staying on for 4 seconds). If you notice the LED stay on when you first power up, it won't connect. If the LED pulsates right away when you power up, you can connect.

I'm stumped as to why. I'll have a fix soon as I find out what's happening.

We have 10 beta testers for firmware. All 10 boards passed the test (v2, v3 and v3.1). I spent the past while trying board after board and found 3 that won't connect all the time.

I can verify that there is indeed something fishy happening. I'm going to make sure it's fixed today :)

#30

Plugging and Unplugging could be dangerous maybe?

Also, is it the white or Red light?

Do we want it to flash or stay on?

#32

OK, that little trick worked for me. I was scared to try it because rapid turning on/off can kill a cpu. Evidently, D.J. has put some protection circuits inside and on the board.

Good Work!!

Okay, the new version is up. If you already have updated to 15.3, you will have to update again and it will fix your issue.

If you already have the buggy version, you'll have to try the quick power recycle in order to receive an immediate pulsing LED before updating.

If anyone is having trouble recovering from the buggy firmware, let me know and i'll try to help you.

I'm tired:) Sleep time!

I do have problems updating from the buggy software.

I have downloaded and installed the new version. I have i reset my bluetooth device, when i try to update it i get a message saying..

Attempting connection to COM3 Connection Failed: System.IO.IOException: The semaphore timeout period has expired.

at System.IO.Ports.InternalResources.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String str) at System.IO.Ports.SerialStream..ctor(String portName, Int32 baudRate, Parity parity, Int32 dataBits, StopBits stopBits, Int32 readTimeout, Int32 writeTimeout, Handshake handshake, Boolean dtrEnable, Boolean rtsEnable, Boolean discardNull, Byte parityReplace) at System.IO.Ports.SerialPort.Open() at EZ_B.EZB.Connect(String portName) Disconnected.

*EDIT

Never Mind, I have got it to update. After installed the new version, it had 3 different ports set up. Before I had the com3 and com4 port. This time I had Com3, Com4 and Com5. Turns out that the Com4 port wasnt really assigned to be any port at all. so I took that out and then it updated.

Thanks for your work DJ! My EZ-B is working perfectly and the new update is GREAT! :D

The power cycle does not result in an immediate pulsing led. It will always just stay on for a bit and start pulsing. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. What else can I try? Thank you in advance.

D.J.

Thanks for all of your hard work. The bluetooth hooks up 100% of the time according to my tests. Seems that problem is solved. That is really nice not to be agravated by that.

Good Work!!!! I apreciate it. This is on 15.3.

Thanks,

Mel
