Alternative To Speech Recognition As A Fail Safe Method

I am looking to use JD as an assistant in a comedy show I am doing for children. I know the children can create a lot of noise. Therefore I need to find the best fallback if speech recognition does not work. Is a keyboard shortcut the best alternative?

ARC Pro

Upgrade to ARC Pro

Your robot can be more than a simple automated machine with the power of ARC Pro!

You can use the Key Control (https://synthiam.com/Support?id=181)

That allows you to map a code to each key on the keyboard

Alternatively, if your presentation is scripted, a simple joystick or WiiMote button can be pressed to advance to the next part of the script

Joystick: https://synthiam.com/Support?id=43

WiiMote: https://synthiam.com/Support?id=154

Lastly, this sounds super fun! Jealous that you get to perform something like that :D

Oh smart idea! Never thought of glyphs. That’s a good one. You can also do qr codes! I think there’s a the robot program episode on that as well.

Hi, Thank you I think that the key control would be the best . As the glyphs and QR codes maybe an issue if I am working in a low light environment. I also have a MYO band. could I use it?

The myo could be used, but it’s not a very reliable input device. The actions aren’t always detected by the myo hardware. I find it inconvenient for detecting actions.

The only thing I like about it is controlling servos with the accelerometer.
