Hey gang,
I have two EZB-V4's and three IO Tinys (which I really love). I was having an issue with a Sharp IR sensor with the IO Tiny - it just never worked. I changed sensors, redid the wiring, etc and no luck.

Removed the sensor and wired up to one of my EZB-V4s. It works fine. Is there something different in the analog voltages OR is it possible my IO Tiny has a bad port?

It’s strang it works on the exp v4 then. It is a 5V unit sensor.

I’ve tried both analog channels on the IO tiny with the same result.

I have some of the voltage regulators too. I could pull power for the analog signal from one of the digital channels through a regulator and send the signal wire to the analog input.

I think I will also try switching out the tiny.

Ok neither worked. What is the part number if the sharp sensor that you use that is designed for a 3v source?

This one should work but I have never tried it...
Sharp 10 to 150cm IR sensor

These are the ones I use... I use them as a proximity sensor (like in a robot hand to indicate whether an object is in it or not) not a distance sensor...

Sharp have both analog and digital sensors:

RichardR is a digital so is 0 or 1 (object or not) you can connect to a digital port.

The analogis a different story, they measure distance and translate the distance to a voltage.

There are two versions: 5v and 3V

I would use a 5V version (you will need a 5v source)
