Hello Everyone,We Have 4 EZ-

Hello everyone, We have 4 EZ-Robot Humanoid JD. The 4 ez-robots are 2 years old. We tried connecting via phone and it worked but the capabilities of the phone software was limited. the PCs we used and had the software recently downloaded wouldn't recognize the robot at all. But one of the teammates who had the software downloaded from the first of this year or maybe even November of last year, the software, would work just fine and connect and recognize the robot easily. We think its a software problem because all of the robots would work fine with the older version of the software but not the recently downloaded one.

We have 4 EZ-Robot Humanoid JD. they were all assembled by older students before us. So we don't know if there were any problems with assembly although they worked for them and we have detected a few misconstruction and rectified most of them. 3 robots wouldn't appear on the network/WiFi screen of PCs and we noticed they had this red light from behind on its back. We took it to our IT department to figure it out.  They pushed a pin into the reset button. It worked! The robots would appear on the WiFi connection but the problem now was that the software didn't recognize the robots as EZ-vb robots.

Hello @Alghadhoori_F

Definitely check out the JD robot Learn Section for addition information and troubleshooting.

There are a couple things that might be happening:

  1. The PCs that you are connecting to may have a wired ethernet connection that could be causing a conflict with the IP address 192.168.1.1

  2. You may have an anti-virus program running that is blocking the connection

  3. You may not have a good connection to JD's RGB eyes. An I2C lockup can occur if this is the case. Look for a solid red LED on the top left of the EZ-Bv4 if this is the case

I assure you the software has not changed for connecting to the robots since 2013. Not a single piece of code regarding the connection control has changed since 2013, so you're good to go. Check Jeremie's response to see if anything has changed on your side with the network. Other than that - what's most likely missing is the step where you connected the computer to the robot via WiFi. Follow the connection tutorial and you'll be good to go :)
