ARC Screen Freezes After Connecting To Jd

I have had JD for a while without any problems but I can not get past the connection anymore. The debug says I am connected and it shows the right IP but immediately after I pressed the connect button I hear JD beep once and the screen freezes. The connect button goes dark but I can read "disconnect" on it. My OS is Windows 10 on an Acer desk top and that is the same I had all along with no other problems. Has anyone experienced this? I can not find any posts related to that on the forum. Alain

Check that the RGB LED (JD's eyes) is connected properly and working... You might need to un-plug it and plug it back in again... Maybe try another i2C port... ARC will lock up if a project containing the RGB animator control is present but you don't have the physical RGB animator board plugged into the ezb4 or one that's working properly...

@Richard is correct - the RGB Eyes are not connected or loose.

The error you are receiving is

Quote:

Thanks again Richard and DJ. I disconnected the RGB eyes and reconnected them but the problem remained. I figured there might be another "no respond" situation and remembered having removed an ultrasonic sensor and leaving the control on the project. I removed the control and all is well. I hope this was the cause.

Did you follow the FAQ? We'd need to know if the RGB LED's are turning on correctly, etc? Because of the RGB LED's are not powering up correctly, that would be the reason. Also, you did not mention if you "removed the rgb animator from the project" as a test to see if the RGB Eyes are faulty. This is all covered in the links above.

As I tried to explain in my last post, DJ is working OK since I removed the control for the ultrasonic sensor which had been removed from the project previously. No more screen freeze. I nevertheless did the test as per the instructions in the link you gave me. The LED are turning on correctly. I had not removed the RGB Animator earlier because my problem was solved without doing so. So I double checked everything by following the instructions to the letter and I did remove the RGB Animator this time to complete the test and all is OK. Thanks again.
